What is Remnant?

So what is Remnant?

Remnant is a top down space shooter being developed for the web browser and PC market that combines fast-paced combat with command over a fleet of autonomous drones. Players will take control of a highly advanced ship with the unique ability to transform into larger, more powerful ships at the press of a button.

Through the progression of the game the Player will find and collect ally drones, adding them to their fleet to increase their power and capabilities. Acting almost completely autonomously, the drones provide an added level of offense and defense, but their true power comes when they are combined with the Player’s primary ship. This unique ability allows the Player to momentarily transform into different more powerful ship with advanced weapon systems. In-game the Player will have access to four distinct and powerful weapon systems that their primary ship can transform into, acquired over the progression of the game.

This is the core of our vision, a “Fleet of One”. Throughout the gameplay experience we want the Player to always have a powerful array of tactical choices and weapons in combat that can be initiated in seconds.

Inaugural Post

Ladies and gentlemen,

We would like to welcome you all to the Remnant Development Blog as we kick it off with our inaugural post.

This week marks the shift from a regular class schedule to a full focus on project development. After eight months of training and practice we've finally been given full reign over the production space to work on our games and develop a 5-minute "vertical slice" of gameplay.

On this blog we'll be posting the latest news and updates on the development of our game, from the first day of production to our post mortems in February.You'll have a chance to see the day-to-day activities of the team and see how our game evolve from concept to reality.

In the next few days we'll be showcasing the game concept we've been developing thus far, Remnant, as well as introduce you to the team and give you a preview of development over the next few weeks.
